Welcome to Affilae. This guide gives you the steps to follow, in order, from creating your account to earning your first commissions. Each step stays short on purpose and links to the detailed documentation that covers it in full.
Your journey in four steps
- Create your account and your first editor profile.
- Apply to the programs of brands that match your audience.
- Generate your tracking links and promote your partner brands.
- Track your commissions and request your payment.
Here are the menus you will use most often in your publisher account.
Step 1: create your account and your editor profile
You need two things: an account (your login) and at least one editor profile, the card that presents your site or your channels to advertisers. One account can hold several profiles, for example one per topic.
- From the login page, click the become an affiliate link and fill in the Create your Affilae account form.
- Confirm your email address by clicking the link you receive by email.
- Create your first profile: enter the URL of your site or channel, then Analyze my profile pre-fills the form using artificial intelligence. Review it, correct anything wrong, then validate.
- Complete your account setup: your business details and your banking details, which are required to get paid.
Every field, the password rules and how to add more profiles are explained here: Creating an account and an editor profile.
Step 2: find programs and apply
Once your profile is ready, open the Marketplace from the left menu (Tools section). You can browse advertiser programs, filter by category, country or commission type, then click Apply.
You follow your applications in Manage profile > your profile > Partnerships. Each row has a status:
- Pending the advertiser has not replied yet.
- Approved the partnership is active, you can generate your links.
Response times vary from one brand to another. To understand the figures shown on a program page (EPC, validation rate, payment period) and choose your applications well, read Using the programs marketplace.
Two other entry points complete the programs marketplace:
- Product testing: request products to test in exchange for a publication, then follow your requests from that same menu.
- Messaging: contact an advertiser directly to introduce your audience.
Step 3: generate your links and promote
As soon as a partnership is Approved, open Link builder in the Tools section. You paste the address of the page you want to promote, Affilae recognises the partnership and immediately displays your tracking link.
The full walkthrough, including SubIDs to segment your statistics and the SEO best practices, is here: How to create a tracking link?
To enrich your content, your partner brands provide banners, creative assets, product feeds and voucher codes. You find them in Manage profile > your profile > Medias. If a brand has not uploaded anything yet, contact it through Messaging.
Step 4: track your commissions and request your payment
Your performance appears in real time in Dashboard and, in detail, in Reporting. On the money side, the Payments page gathers all your commissions, from validation to payout.
- Open Payments from the left menu.
- The Available commissions card shows the total you can cash in.
- Click Request payment, check the summary, then confirm. Your invoices are generated automatically.
A commission with the Threshold not reached status keeps adding up until it reaches the minimum amount set by the program. Statuses, timelines and invoicing are explained in Tracking and requesting your commission payments.
Depending on your country and your situation, you may be asked for a tax form before any payout. The common questions are gathered in Tax Form, Frequently Asked Questions.
Getting started well: our advice
- Polish your profile before you apply. Advertisers read it to decide, and it feeds the relevance of your AI matches.
- Fill in your banking details right after signing up. This is the number one cause of delayed payments.
- Turn on two-factor authentication to protect your account and your earnings. See Two-Factor Authentication.
- Test your links before publishing: click one and check that a click shows up in your reporting.
- Create one profile per distinct audience if you run several sites or channels on different topics.
