A tracking link (or “tracked link”) is a personalized link that identifies you to the advertiser. When someone clicks it and then makes a purchase, the sale is attributed to you and generates your commission. Here is how to create one in a few seconds.
Create your tracked link
- In the left-hand menu (Tools section), open Link builder.
- If you manage several profiles, select the right profile in the top right.
- In Global settings, paste into the URL field the address of the page you want to send your visitors to: homepage, category or a specific product page.
- Affilae automatically recognizes the matching Partnership for that URL. If needed, select it manually from the drop-down list.
- Your Tracked link appears immediately, with no button to click. Copy it with the copy icon, then use it in your content.
The generated link looks like this:
https://www.example.com/?utm_medium=affiliation&utm_source=YourProfile&ae=1
Fine-tune your tracking (optional)
Expand the Optional settings section to enrich your link:
- Add SubID: a free identifier (up to 6) to segment your statistics, for example to distinguish a newsletter, an Instagram post or a specific page.
- Add dynamic parameters: a value filled in automatically, such as
{affiliateTrackingId},{programName}or{affiliateName}. - Add custom parameters: your own key = value pair added to the URL.
Your latest links remain available under Last built URLs so you can find them quickly.
Good to know: SEO
Google asks you to indicate the commercial nature of affiliate links. When you add a tracked link to a web page, give it the rel="sponsored" (or rel="nofollow") attribute. See Google’s documentation on link attributes.
