Write your program page and publish it on the Marketplace

Your program page is what publishers read on the Marketplace before deciding to apply. This guide gives you the golden rules for every field, a partnership terms template, then the steps to publish your page.

Requirements: your program exists and has the Enabled status (a Paused program never appears on the Marketplace). You also need edit rights on the program communication: without them, the Save button stays grayed out.

Where you write your program page

Everything a publisher reads on your page is set from your program configuration.

To add your logo, click the circle at the top of this page: the Add logo window accepts a JPEG or PNG file, which you crop to a square. Without a logo, your page shows a plain colored circle.

The golden rules, field by field

The eight markers follow the order of the Brand presentation section: for each field, what it becomes on your page, then our golden rule.

The Brand presentation section, with its eight fields numbered in the order of the golden rules.

1. Categories: aim precisely, not wide

The Main category (required) and the Secondary category (optional, several allowed) appear as tags under your short description. The Marketplace Categories filter relies on both.

Golden rule: make your main category the one that matches your flagship product, the one a publisher in your industry would filter on first. Add a secondary category only if you really sell those products: otherwise, you attract off-topic applications.

2. Countries: only where you actually sell

The countries you pick under Countries appear in the Geographical area section of your page, and the Marketplace Countries filter relies on them.

Golden rule: keep only the countries you ship to, in their currency, with customer service that answers. As the field help points out, a country where you do not sell only brings applications you will have to decline.

3. Language tabs: one language per target market

Your page is in French by default. The “+” button to the right of the tabs adds a language (five at most), and the trash icon removes the one displayed. Each open language needs its short description, description and terms: otherwise, its tab shows a red dot and saving fails. On a listed page that targets a non-French-speaking country, English becomes mandatory.

Golden rule: open one language per market you really target, and have each version proofread by a native speaker. Without a version in their language, publishers read another version of your page.

4. Short description: one sentence that says it all

The Short description appears under the program name, in a box a few lines high: beyond that, the publisher has to click an arrow. Search engines also pick up its first 150 characters. Its help text sums up the brief: “Describe your activity in one sentence.”

Golden rule: one sentence under 150 characters that says what you sell, where, and what the publisher earns. No welcome line, no unverifiable superlatives.

5. Description: the essentials in the first 200 characters

The Description fills the Presentation block of your page, as plain text with your line breaks. Only its first 200 characters are shown: to read more, the publisher has to click. Its help text asks for an overview of your activity and your benefits, such as competitiveness, conversion rate and average sales.

Golden rule: put your best argument in the first 200 characters, then expand in short paragraphs: your products and their season, what you provide to publishers, the partners you are looking for.

6. Affiliate terms: one rule per line

Your Affiliate terms appear in the Affiliate program terms tab of your page, under General terms, as plain text: your line breaks stay, but bold and bullet lists do not. Publishers read them in their language if you opened it, otherwise in French.

Golden rule: one rule per line, one sentence per rule, no formatting. Start from the template below and adapt it in each language.

7. Social networks: only active accounts

Click the “+” next to Social networks, pick the network (Facebook, TikTok, X, Instagram, Pinterest or YouTube), then paste the full address of your page. The icons appear under the program name.

Golden rule: only add accounts you keep alive. A content creator looks at your latest posts before applying: an abandoned account hurts your brand.

8. Authorizations: three settings, the rest goes in your terms

This block, collapsed by default, has three rows: Email, PopUp/PopUnder and Buying Keywords, each set to yes, no or ask. Publishers read Yes, No or Upon request in the Affiliate program terms tab, under Authorizations, where Buying Keywords shows as Keyword purchases. By default, Email is set to ask and the other two to no.

Golden rule: align these three settings with your terms, where everything else goes: cashback, coupon sites, social media, keyword nuances. You accept generic keywords but not your brand name? Choose ask and spell it out in your terms.

The brand name trap: the Brand name field is required to save, but it does not appear on your page. The page title is the Program name, set in Global Settings: it is what the Marketplace search finds and the basis of your page address. Give it your brand name, the way your customers know it.

Your partnership terms: the template to adapt

Your affiliate terms are the rulebook of your program: what publishers can do, what is off-limits, which sales earn a commission. To apply, a publisher checks a box stating that they have read your terms and fully accept them. Clear terms spare you off-topic applications and disputes over commissions.

We recommend covering at least these points:

  • Allowed and banned channels: brand keyword bidding, cashback, coupon sites, email marketing, social media and partnership disclosure.
  • Promo codes: only the ones you provide may be shared.
  • Non-commissionable sales: canceled, returned or fraudulent orders, and gift cards if that is your policy.
  • Your sales validation schedule: only write what you will deliver.
  • Breaches: what they mean for the sale and for the partnership.
Template to copy
[Brand name] partnership terms
Accepted channels: [content sites, blogs, comparison sites, social media, newsletters].
Brand keyword bidding: not allowed on [brand name], its variants and misspellings, on any search engine.
Cashback and incentivized traffic: [allowed / not allowed / subject to our written approval].
Promo codes: only codes provided by [brand name] may be published, on your site and on coupon sites alike.
Email marketing: only to contacts who agreed to receive your offers, with an unsubscribe link.
Social media: every post clearly states that it is a paid partnership.
Non-commissionable sales: canceled, returned, refunded or fraudulent orders[, gift card purchases].
Sales validation: [your schedule, for example at the start of each month, once the return period is over].
Breach of terms: any sale generated outside these terms is refused, and the partnership may be ended.
Questions: message us on Affilae before running any special promotion.

This template is a starting point: adapt each line to your business, your channels and your returns policy.

What publishers see on your page

Here is your page as a publisher discovers it, with its seven areas.

The Home & Garden page as a publisher sees it, from its title down to the tabs.
The Home & Garden page as a publisher sees it, from its title down to the tabs.

Part of what they read does not come from the Communication settings page:

  • The title and the link to your site (marker 1): the Program name and Url from Global Settings.
  • The commission (marker 4): the Up to figure shows your best tier, computed from your public groups and their public rules. Custom rates, increases and private groups are left out; with no public rule, the page shows N/A.
  • The other conditions (marker 4): Attribution mode, Payment threshold and Session duration come from Global Settings. Tracking duration is set on each commission rule, with Tracking duration (in days).
  • The Commission Rules tab (marker 7): each public group and its rules, under the names you gave them. Name them in your publishers’ language: a rule named in French reads poorly on an English page.

The indicators (marker 5) are computed by Affilae from your real activity, and you cannot edit them:

  • EPC: your commissions divided by your clicks, over the whole life of the program.
  • Validation rate: the share of last month’s conversions you did not refuse. A program with no conversions shows 100%.
  • Average payments: the average payment delay measured on your payment requests paid over the last six months.
  • First reply: your responsiveness on Affilae messaging.

To improve them, refuse only the sales that deserve it, settle payment requests promptly and reply to your publishers quickly.

Publish your page on the Marketplace

  1. At the bottom of the Communication settings page, in the Appearance on the advertiser marketplace section, turn on the Would you like to be listed on the advertiser marketplace? toggle.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Back on the Program settings page, the Program communication block shows Listed on Marketplace: Yes.

The toggle sends a request. Going live is then approved manually by the Affilae team: your interface may show Yes while your page is not in the list yet, with no pending status on your side. To find out where your request stands, email support@affilae.com with your program name.

Even when it is not listed, your page opens from its direct link: you can send it to the publishers you contact yourself.

When a publisher applies

On your page, the publisher clicks Apply, picks one of their profiles, usually writes you a message of 1 to 400 characters and checks the box accepting your terms. What happens next depends on the Affiliate validation setting, in Global Settings:

  • Manual, the default: the application arrives as Pending and the program Manager gets an email. To accept it, open My affiliates, click the pencil next to the status, then Approve. In the Accept affiliate window, choose their Affiliate group and confirm with Accept.
  • Automatic: the partnership is approved right away, in your default group.

We recommend keeping manual validation as long as you want to check each application against your terms.

Our advice before you ask to go live

Tip: read your page the way a publisher would. In the Program communication block, the Marketplace link row (Marketplace links if you have several languages) opens your page in each language. Read it without expanding anything: that is all a busy publisher will take in.
  • A visible commission. Create at least one public rule in a public group: without it, your page shows N/A instead of a commission.
  • Ready-to-use assets. Upload banners, vouchers and product feeds from Medias, in your program panel. With no ads, the Advertising material tab of your page stays grayed out.
  • Tested tracking. The application does not check it before publishing: test it before welcoming your first publishers.

Three real-life situations

  • Home & Garden launches its program. The brand follows the eight rules, adapts the terms template and tests its tracking. It creates a public rule, uploads its banners, then turns on the toggle while keeping manual validation.
  • A cosmetics brand expands into Germany. It adds Germany under Countries, opens a German tab and fills in the English tab, now mandatory. It also checks its group and rule names, which appear as is in every language.
  • An online service pauses recruitment. It turns off the toggle and leaves the list. Its current partnerships carry on, and its page stays reachable from its direct link.

The toggle sends a request: going live is then approved manually by the Affilae team, with no pending status on your side. Check that your program has the Enabled status, then email support@affilae.com with its name.

Each open language needs its short description, description and terms: an incomplete language shows a red dot. Also check the Brand name, the Main category, the countries and your social network addresses. If the Save button is grayed out, you lack edit rights on the program communication.

Because your program is listed and targets at least one non-French-speaking country: the English tab is then added automatically and cannot be removed. If you do not target that market, remove the country from the Countries field.

Technically yes: the application checks neither your tracking nor your creative assets before letting you turn the toggle on. But it is the surest way to disappoint your first publishers. Test your tracking, create a public commission rule and upload a few creative assets before asking to go live.

Turning the toggle off removes your page from the list. The padlock button of the Program communication block opens the Private mode window instead: your page stays listed, but its details are protected by a password, the Access code, which you share with the publishers you choose. In both cases, your current partnerships carry on.

The Brand name field is required to save, but it is not shown anywhere on the page. The page title is the Program name, which you edit in Global Settings: give it your brand name.

In the Affiliate program terms tab of your page: your terms under General terms, your three authorizations under Authorizations. Publishers read them in their language if you opened it, otherwise in French. The box they check to apply links to this tab.

They are the three possible settings for Email, PopUp/PopUnder and Buying Keywords: yes allows the channel, no bans it, ask requires the publisher to request your approval. On your page, publishers read Yes, No or Upon request. By default, Email is set to ask and the other two to no.
