Completing your DAC7 tax form as an individual

The tax form (DAC7) is completed in five steps from your publisher account. This guide follows the journey of an individual (natural person) step by step, from opening the form to reaching the Completed status.
Opening your form
- At the bottom of the sidebar, click your user card to open the My account panel.
- Under Regulatory Declaration, open Form (DAC7).
- As long as your form has not been submitted, it opens straight on its first step, Status. Once submitted, the Profile Selection – DAC7 Form page opens instead.
You can also reach the form directly from the banner Complete your tax information to unlock payments (regulatory requirement), by clicking Access form.
Step 1, state that you are an individual
- Click the I am an individual card. It becomes highlighted in purple.
- Click Next.
This choice determines the rest of the journey: as an individual you get an extra step, Personal information, which legal entities do not have. If Affilae finds data already recorded on your account, the window Your data has been automatically filled appears: read it, click Understood, then check every pre-filled field.
Step 2, your personal information
Every field in this step is required:
- First Name and Last Name: letters only. Digits and symbols are rejected with the message Invalid characters.
- Email: a valid address, otherwise the message Invalid email appears.
- Birth Information: Country of Birth (dropdown, all countries), Date of Birth (calendar picker) and Place of Birth.
- Postal Address: Address, Postal Code, City and Country. This country list only offers European Union countries, hence the message Country must be in the EU if the recorded value is outside the EU.
When you click Next, Affilae checks the address against a mapping service. If it is not recognised, the three fields turn red with the message Invalid address (verify address, city and/or postal code). A date of birth that makes you under 18 is rejected with the message You must be 18 or over to submit the form.
Step 3, your tax information
- Choose your Tax residence country. The list only offers European Union countries.
- Enter your tax identification number in the TIN field.
- Click Next.
The expected format changes from one country to another. The field shows a template (a run of hash signs matching the expected number of characters) and, just below, an example plus a Download TIN documentation link that details the formats country by country. For an individual living in France, this is the 13 digit tax number shown on your tax notice. The information icon next to the label repeats that same explanation.
If the number does not match the template, the message The tax identification number does not match the expected format for this country appears under the field.
Step 4, your payment information
- Account Holder Full Name: the exact name as it appears on the bank account.
- IBAN: the account number in IBAN format. If it is rejected, the message Invalid IBAN appears.
These are the details used to pay out your commissions, so check them character by character before moving on.
Step 5, the legal declaration and final submission
The last step lists the terms you accept by submitting the form (accuracy of the information, terms and conditions of the affiliate program, processing of your data, consequences of incorrect information, DAC7 reporting requirements). Then tick the box I declare on my honor that the information provided is accurate and complete and click Submit. While the box is unticked the button stays inactive and the message You must accept the declaration appears.
If the tax number you entered fails the final check, a red panel appears: Your tax identification number does not match the expected format for its country. Please correct it in the « Tax information » step before submitting your declaration. The Fix it button takes you straight back to that step.
When everything is in order, the Form successfully submitted screen appears with the message Your form has been successfully submitted. It will now be reviewed. Click Close to return to the list.
Checking that your form is completed
Go back to My account > Regulatory Declaration > Form (DAC7). The Publisher row must carry the green Completed chip, and the button becomes View form. Three statuses exist:
Completed In progress Not completed
If you manage several affiliate profiles, a table is added below the main publisher card, with the columns Profile name, Status and Actions. Each profile has its own form to complete.
- Complete the main publisher form first, the profile forms only become available afterwards.
- Tick the profiles that reuse the same information as your main account, then click Select: Affilae fills in and submits their forms for you. The Select all checkbox ticks them in one go.
- For a profile with different information, click Access form and fill it in manually. The Back to list button returns you to the table.
Why complete this form
- Your payment requests stay available. Without a completed form, creating a payment request is blocked and a banner reminds you at every login.
- Your commissions land on the right account. The IBAN and account holder name entered here are used for your payouts.
- You only fill it in once. Once submitted, the form switches to view mode, so nothing has to be re-entered.
- Your profiles are handled in one batch. If you manage several affiliate profiles, reusing the main account information saves you from retyping everything.
Best practices
- Keep your tax notice and your bank details at hand before you start. Every validated step is saved: if you stop, you resume where you left off and the form stays at the In progress status.
- Enter your address exactly as it appears on an online map, without abbreviations, so validation passes on the first try.
- Check that the Tax residence country matches the country that issued the tax number you enter.
- If some fields are already pre-filled, read them again: they come from your profile and may be incomplete or out of date.
Use cases
- A blogger just starting out. Marie earns her first commissions and sees the banner asking her to complete her tax information. She picks I am an individual, fills in her details, her 13 digit tax number and her IBAN, then submits. Her payment request is unlocked immediately.
- A creator with two sites. Thomas manages two affiliate profiles on top of his main account. He completes the main publisher form first, then ticks both profiles and clicks Select: both forms switch to Completed with no extra typing.
- A publisher who made a typo. Sofia notices after submission that her IBAN contains a mistake. The form is in View mode and she can no longer edit it, so she writes to support@affilae.com to request the correction.

Frequently asked questions
The field expects your tax identification number, the one the tax administration uses to identify you. For an individual living in France, it is the 13 digit tax number shown on your tax notice. The field is labelled TIN in English, and NIF in the French interface when France is the selected tax residence country.
The template shown in the field (a run of hash signs) indicates how many characters are expected, and the Download TIN documentation link just below details the format country by country.
These two fields only accept letters. A digit or a symbol such as +, /, =, @, #, %, & or a bracket triggers the message Invalid characters.
Enter your first name and last name as they appear on your identity document, with no numbers or extra wording.
The message You must be 18 or over to submit the form appears under the Date of Birth field. The form cannot be submitted by someone who is under 18 according to the date entered.
First check that the date is correct, the calendar picker may have stayed on the wrong year. If the date is right and the block remains, contact support@affilae.com.
Affilae checks the address against a mapping service when you click Next. When it is not recognised, the Address, Postal Code and City fields turn red with the message Invalid address (verify address, city and/or postal code).
Re-enter the address exactly as it appears on an online map: street number, street type written in full, spelling of the town, postal code. Avoid extras such as a flat number or a building name.
A red panel reads Your tax identification number does not match the expected format for its country. Please correct it in the « Tax information » step before submitting your declaration. The final check is stricter than the one applied while typing.
Click the Fix it button in that message: it takes you straight back to the Tax information step. Compare your number with the template and the example shown, then walk through the steps again up to submission.
Yes, each profile has its own form. Complete the main publisher form first: the profile forms only become available afterwards.
A table listing your profiles then appears, with the columns Profile name, Status and Actions. Tick the relevant profiles then click Select under Use my main account information: Affilae reuses the main account details and submits their forms. For a profile with different information, open Access form and fill it in by hand.
