Tax Form, Frequently Asked Questions

The tax form (DAC7) is a questionnaire you complete in your publisher account to provide your tax, legal and banking information. Affilae collects it under the European DAC7 directive, and it conditions your payment requests.

Prerequisites: only the account owner can complete this form. It appears only if your country is in the European Union. Have your tax identification number and your IBAN at hand.

What the form asks for

The first step, Status, shows the Select your status to continue screen and determines the rest of the journey:

  • I am an individual: your personal information (first name, last name, email, birth details, postal address), then your Tax residence country and your TIN.
  • I am a legal entity: your Business entity type (Association, Company, Self-employed), the Company name, the Tax residence country, the TIN (SIREN for French companies), the VAT number and the Address of your company.

Both journeys end with Payment information (Account Holder Full Name and IBAN), then the Legal declaration checkbox: I declare on my honor that the information provided is accurate and complete.

What to check before you submit

  • Check your tax identification number character by character: the expected format depends on your country.
  • Enter your address exactly as it appears on Google Maps, otherwise validation rejects it.
  • Make sure the IBAN belongs to the holder entered in Account Holder Full Name.
  • If you manage several profiles, use Use my main account information to fill them in one go.
Tip: read everything again before validating. A window titled Please double-check your information before submitting reminds you that your data will be considered final and that you will not be able to edit it yourself after submission.

Frequently asked
questions

DAC7 is a European directive that requires digital platforms operating in Europe to collect certain tax information about their users and submit it to the tax authorities. Affilae therefore asks you for personal or professional data depending on your status, individual or legal entity: name, address, country of tax residence, tax identification number.

You can read this explanation again at any time in the app, by clicking the DAC7 link shown above the form.

Your payment requests are blocked. When you try to create one, the window Complete your legal information to receive a payment appears with the message You will not be able to request a payment until your tax and legal information has been provided.

Two buttons are offered: Complete my information, which takes you straight to the form, and Remind me later. Your already validated commissions are not lost, they stay pending your request.

The Form (DAC7) menu appears only when two conditions are met: you are the account owner, and the country recorded on your publisher account is in the European Union.

If you are an invited user on the account, the app shows the message Only the owner of the account can provide this information. Please contact him to update. Ask the account owner to complete the form.

Open My account, then Regulatory Declaration and Form (DAC7). Each row carries a status chip: Completed, In progress or Not completed. A progress bar shows how many forms are completed.

Once the form is submitted it becomes read only, and the notice View mode: you can navigate through the form but cannot modify any information appears. To correct a value, write to support@affilae.com.

The TIN (Tax Identification Number, NIF in French) is the unique number the tax administration uses to identify you. In France, for individuals, it is the 13 digit tax number shown on your tax notice. For French companies, the form asks for the 9 digit SIREN.

The VAT number is a separate field, asked only of legal entities. If you do not have one, tick I don’t have a VAT number and/or I am not subject to VAT. The Download TIN documentation and Consult TIN Documentation links detail the expected format country by country.

Read the message shown, it names the field to fix. Invalid address (verify address, city and/or postal code – Your address must be the same as the one displayed on Google Maps) means the address must match Google Maps exactly. The tax identification number does not match the expected format for this country points to a format issue, correct it at the Tax information step.

Other common messages: Invalid VAT number, Invalid IBAN, You must be 18 or over to submit the form, and VAT number already exists on another account. If the block persists after checking, contact support@affilae.com.
