Match AI: find the best partners for your brand
Discover the most-read articles
Match AI is the Affilae partner discovery tool: it suggests the affiliates whose audience and content best fit your program. Profiles are ranked on how close they are to your brand, then on their commercial performance over the last 90 days.
Where to find Match AI
- In the sidebar, under Tools, click Match AI.
- In the top right corner, select the program you are looking for partners for.
- The Match AI page displays the recommended affiliates and the “X result(s) found” counter.
Results are specific to the selected program. If you manage several programs, switch programs to get a different set of recommendations.
Filling in your Match AI configuration
The quality of the recommendations depends entirely on the context you give Affilae. Two screens feed Match AI.
1. Your program copy and scope. Go to Manage programs > your program > Settings, card Program communication, button Manage. Fill in:
- Short description: your business in one sentence, what an affiliate should grasp first.
- Description: your key products, competitive advantages, average order value and positioning.
- Main category and Secondary category: your product world.
- Countries: the markets where you want to be visible.
2. Your matching signals. From the Match AI page, click the gear icon in the top right corner (Configure matching profile). You reach three collapsible sections:

- Main objectives and content types: the most important setting, it decides which affiliate types can show up.
- Personas: your Targeting and Interests (1 to 3 choices each, order sets priority), plus optional Lifestyle and Behavior.
- Other criteria powered by our AI: the Audience profile and the Editorial positioning. Both texts are pre-filled by our AI and you can edit them freely.
Finish with Save. The message “Match AI settings updated” confirms your changes were recorded.
Choosing your objectives and content types
The combination of Main objective and Expected content type decides which affiliate types can appear. Three objectives are available, and you can select several:
- Sales & ROI: generate measurable and profitable revenue.
- Visibility & Influence: build awareness and influence purchase decisions.
- Traffic & Acquisition: attract a qualified audience to your site or app.
Six content types are available: Editorial content, Influence & Social, Deals, Comparison, Email and Display & Networks. A few telling combinations:
Reading the results
At the top of the page, below the Match AI title, a counter shows how many profiles were found. The results are then laid out as a grid. Each affiliate appears as a card: photo or logo, name, affiliate type, countries, follower count or traffic, and engagement rate. A chip shows the thematic fit, meaning how close their world is to yours.
Why the order can be surprising. Ranking does not follow thematic fit alone: it combines that fit with the affiliate performance. A Relevant profile can therefore outrank a Highly relevant one if it shows a better ROI or more conversions. All performance figures cover the last 90 days, and when the history is too thin they carry less weight in the ranking, to avoid misleading results.
Opening an affiliate profile
Click a card to open the detailed profile. It gathers everything you need before reaching out:
- Why this match?: three reasons written by our AI, explaining the connection with your program.
- Audience: Follower growth, Engagement growth or Traffic growth, compared with the previous month.
- Categories, Personas, Content formats and Interests of the profile.
- Performance: Conversions (90d), ROI, Clicks (90d), Conversion rate and Collaborations.
Extra chips help you read the profile: New (created less than 30 days ago), Top reactive (average response time under 48 hours) and Top experience (at least 5 different programs).
The Contact button at the bottom of the profile opens the Send a message window: pick the program, write your message, then click Send.
Refining with filters
The purple button in the top right corner opens the Filters panel. It starts with Ranking options, which set the trade-off between brand fit and commercial results:
- Relevance: prioritizes affiliates most semantically aligned with your brand.
- Balanced: blends thematic relevance with commercial performance. This is the default setting.
- Performance: prioritizes partners who generate sales and good ROI.
Next comes Affiliate type. The list you see depends on your configuration: it only shows the types compatible with your objectives and content types.

Performance filters then let you set thresholds: Min ROI, Min conversion rate (%), Min clicks 90d, Min followers, Min engagement rate (%) and Min monthly traffic. Finally, the Exclude my existing partnerships switch removes the affiliates you already work with.
The panel ends with Content formats, Marketing filters, Countries and Categories.

Confirm with Apply filters, or start over with Clear all. A well chosen filter often surfaces affiliates that were not visible in the first results.
Why use Match AI
- You save prospecting time: no need to browse the marketplace profile by profile, the list arrives already sorted.
- You combine two signals: editorial fit and real 90-day performance, instead of choosing on audience size alone.
- You discover profiles you would not have looked for: filters surface affiliates beyond the obvious names.
- You reach out in one click: the detailed profile leads straight to sending a message.
Best practices
- Invest in your descriptions. Precise copy, with your flagship products and your target, produces far better recommendations than a generic summary.
- Review the AI-generated texts. The Audience profile and the Editorial positioning are editable, and nobody knows your brand better than you.
- Do two passes. A first read in Balanced to see the landscape, a second in Performance to spot the profiles that already convert.
- Update your configuration at every strategic shift: new market, new product range, new target.
- Do not judge a profile on its chip alone. Open the profile, read “Why this match?” and check the available signals before reaching out.
Use cases
A fashion brand launching a menswear range. It sets its objective to Visibility & Influence with the Influence & Social content type, adds the matching personas, then filters on Instagram and TikTok with a high Min engagement rate (%). The result is a short list of creators rather than a long list of generalist accounts.
An online shop chasing short-term revenue. Objective Sales & ROI, content types Deals and Comparison, ranking on Performance, then a Min ROI and a Min clicks 90d to keep only partners already used to converting.
An advertiser expanding into Spain. They add Spain to the Countries of their program, wait for the re-analysis, then filter results on that country. Spanish profiles in their category come up, including media they had never heard of.

The entry only appears once at least one of your programs has been analysed by Affilae. First complete your program description, categories and countries, then contact your Affilae account manager to trigger the analysis.
The chip only measures thematic closeness. The ranking combines that closeness with commercial performance over the last 90 days. An affiliate slightly further from your world but converting better can therefore rank higher.
Yes, in the first few minutes. Your program is re-analysed in the background after saving. Wait a few minutes, then reload the Match AI page.
This message appears when the affiliate has fewer than 20 conversions and fewer than 1,000 clicks over the last 90 days. Their commercial indicators are not solid enough to rely on, so they carry less weight in the ranking.
Because the combination of Main objective and Expected content type restricts the possible types. If you did not tick Deals, for example, deal and cashback sites will not come up. Adjust your Match AI configuration to widen the scope.
The message « AI explanation is temporarily unavailable. » signals a short interruption of the explanation service. The rest of the profile and the ranking are not affected. Try again a little later.
Open their profile by clicking their card, then use the Contact button at the bottom. Select the relevant program, write your message and confirm with Send. The conversation then continues in your Messages.
