How to delete an editor account?

You can close your publisher account yourself, from your Affilae interface, under My account > Security, or from the mobile app. Deleting the account closes your access, cancels every partnership and removes your publisher profiles: it is permanent.

Warning: this action is irreversible. Neither you nor our support team can restore a deleted account, its partnerships or its statistics. Any commission that has not been paid yet is lost.
Requirements: only the account owner can delete the account, meaning the person who created it at sign-up. A user added to the team later can see the screen but cannot confirm the deletion. No payment request may be in progress.

What to do before deleting your account

Four checks will save you from losing money or documents.

  1. Request and collect your commissions. Commissions that are already eligible for payment but not yet paid are lost. Affilae warns you in the confirmation window: “You currently have commissions eligible for payments. They will be lost when the profile is deleted.”
  2. Wait for your payment requests to be settled. As long as a request sits in Pending, Accepted or Scheduled, Affilae refuses the deletion. Only Paid and Refused requests are non-blocking.
  3. Remove your tracking links from your content (articles, newsletters, social media, videos). Once the account is deleted, they no longer earn anything.
  4. Download the documents you need (commission invoices, reporting exports). You lose access to the interface as soon as you confirm.

Delete my account
You are about to delete your account and remove all the affiliate profile details (partnerships, conversions details, payment requests, etc.).
This action is irreversible. Would you like to continue ? To confirm deletion enter your email address and click delete.

The “Delete my account” window as it opens: the Email field is empty and outlined in red, and the Delete button stays inactive.

The field asks for nothing but the login address of your account. If you sign in with camille.durand@example.com, type that exact address: the Delete button only becomes active on a perfect match, capitals included.

Deleting your account from the mobile app

The Affilae app offers the same journey, with slightly different labels and stricter conditions.

  1. On the Dashboard, tap your profile picture at the top of the screen to open your account.
  2. In the Account section, tap Security.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, tap the red Delete my account button.
  5. In the Are you sure you want to leave? window, type your email in the Enter your email to confirm field.
  6. Tap Delete my account to confirm, or Back to cancel.

Unlike the website, the app shows no final confirmation screen: it logs you out straight away.

Good to know: the app checks your payments before letting you go further. The Delete my account button stays inactive as long as you have payment requests or earnings left to collect, with the message “You still have pending payment requests or earnings to collect. Please contact support before deleting your account.” and a Contact support button. If you are not the account owner, the app tells you so: “Only the account owner can delete this account. Please contact support.” Typing your email is still required, and the deletion is just as permanent as from the website.

What is deleted and what is kept

The deletion covers your account and everything attached to it. Sales that were already recorded and accounting documents, however, stay with the advertisers, who need them for their bookkeeping.

ITEM WHAT HAPPENS
Your access, and your team members’ access Removed. No one can log in any more.
Your publisher profiles All removed, including their statistics.
Your partnerships All cancelled. Advertisers do not receive a message from you.
Your tracking links, Marketplace favourites and saved reports Removed.
Your commissions eligible for payment but not paid yet Lost. Request them and get paid before you delete.
Sales already validated and accounting documents (commission invoices) Kept on the advertisers’ side, as they need them for their bookkeeping duties. You no longer have access to them.

Your tracking links after the deletion

Because your partnerships are cancelled, your tracking links are no longer tracked: no click, no sale, therefore no new commission. Links you already published do not disappear from your content on their own, so it is up to you to remove or replace them.

Tip: list the pages that contain tracking links before you delete your account. Once it is closed, you no longer have access to the Link builder or to the history of your latest generated links to help you find them.

Do not want to delete everything?

Three gentler options exist, depending on what you actually want to stop.

  • Leave a single programme: on the Partnerships page of your profile, open a partnership menu and choose Cancel. Your other partnerships carry on.
  • Close a single publisher profile: go to My account > Profiles overview and use the bin icon, or open the profile Settings and pick Delete affiliate profile. The confirmation asks for the Affiliate profile name. Your other profiles and your account stay active.
  • Take a break: simply remove your links from your content. Your account stays open and you can resume later.

No. The deletion is permanent and our support team cannot undo it. You can create a new account, but your former partnerships, statistics and commission history are not restored: you start from scratch and have to apply to each programme again.

Two possible reasons. Either the email address you typed does not match your account address exactly, including capitals and spaces. Or you are not the account owner: a user added to the team can see the screen but cannot confirm the deletion. In that case, ask the account owner to do it.

In most cases a payment request is still in progress: status Pending, Accepted or Scheduled. Wait until it moves to Paid or Refused, then try again. If the message keeps coming back, click Contact support in the window so that we can check your file.

They are lost. Request payment for everything that is eligible, wait until you actually receive the money, and only then delete your account. A payment request that is already in progress also blocks the deletion, which protects you from losing money by accident.

Not for tracking purposes: since your partnerships are cancelled, no click and no sale is recorded any more, so no commission is generated. The links physically stay in your content until you remove them, so remember to clean up your articles, newsletters and posts.

Delete only the profile concerned, from My account then Profiles overview, or from the profile Settings. The confirmation asks you to type the Affiliate profile name. Your other profiles, your partnerships and your account are untouched.

They do not receive a break-up message from you: your partnerships are cancelled silently. If you work regularly with an advertiser, it is good practice to let them know yourself through Messaging before you delete your account.
