📘 Comprendre la DAC7 et ses implications
What is DAC7?
DAC7 is a European directive designed to increase tax transparency. It requires digital platforms like Affilae to collect and report specific information to tax authorities about users residing in the European Union (EU) who earn income through such platforms.
If you are an affiliate on Affilae and generate income, you are likely subject to this requirement. To comply with the directive, Affilae asks you to complete a DAC7 tax questionnaire.
There is no strict deadline, but we recommend completing it as soon as possible. Your payment requests may be suspended until the form is duly completed.
Who is affected by DAC7?
DAC7 applies to all users residing in an EU member state who earn income through Affilae.
If you are an affiliate receiving payments on the platform, you are required to provide the requested tax information.
Affilae will notify you by email and via the platform if you are affected. To avoid any payment disruption or program suspension, we strongly recommend completing the questionnaire as soon as possible.
Why do I need to fill a tax form for DAC7?
The DAC7 tax questionnaire is a legal requirement for platforms like Affilae to collect and report specific information to EU tax authorities.
It is a separate step from any other fiscal declarations related to your activity (e.g., VAT, self-employed status).
Without this information, Affilae may have to suspend your payment requests until the form is completed.
Does DAC7 apply if I live outside the EU?
No. DAC7 only applies to users whose primary residence is in an EU member state.
If you live outside the EU, you are not subject to this reporting obligation.
However, if you move to an EU country (or leave it), you must update your country of residence in your Affilae settings and complete the tax form accordingly.
We recommend regularly checking your account settings to ensure your information is up to date.
📅 The DAC7 Tax Form
When should I complete the DAC7 tax questionnaire?
If you’re affected by DAC7, Affilae will send you an email with instructions to complete the form.
There’s no strict deadline, but we strongly advise you to complete it as soon as possible, as your payments may otherwise be temporarily suspended.
If you can’t find the email, have trouble accessing your account, or need help, contact: support@affilae.com
What happens if I don’t complete the questionnaire?
Affilae is legally required to collect tax information from affiliates residing in the EU. If you don’t submit the form within a reasonable time, we may have to suspend your payment requests.
How do I know if the form is completed?
Go to My Account > Regulatory Declaration > DAC7 Form in your dashboard.
If the status says “Completed”, it means your form was filled correctly and your tax information has been submitted.
How often do I need to update my tax information?
Affilae will ask you to review or update your tax information every 36 months (3 years), as required by DAC7. If not done on time, your payments may be suspended or you may be removed from affiliate programs.
Keep an eye on your dashboard notifications to avoid missing any updates.
🧾 Filling & Validating Your Tax Information
What if the tax form doesn’t load/display correctly?
Check your internet connection or try reloading the page in private/incognito mode.
What if I don’t have a VAT number?
If your country uses the same number for VAT and tax ID, or if you don’t have a VAT number, tick the box “I don’t have a VAT number.”
What if my VAT number is invalid?
If you see an “Invalid code” or similar error, check if your VAT number is listed in the EU VIES database.
If not, contact your accountant or tax advisor to resolve the issue. Affilae uses the VIES system to verify VAT numbers.
What’s the difference between a TIN and a VAT number?
TIN (Tax Identification Number): A personal or business tax ID issued by your country’s tax authority.
In France, it’s a 13-digit number on your tax notice.
For other countries, please have a look to this document : TIN Numbers.VAT Number: An identifier for businesses liable for VAT within the EU.
In France, it starts with “FR” followed by a key and your company’s SIREN number.
If you’re an individual, only the TIN is required.
If you’re a business, both TIN and VAT numbers may be requested.
What happens if my information can’t be verified?
If your information cannot be validated:
Review the form and check for typos (name, address, country, VAT number, etc.).
Ensure the VAT number matches the official format for your country.
If everything looks correct but the error persists, restart the form process.
If you’re still facing issues, consult a tax advisor or contact support@affilae.com

🧩 Managing My Account & Programs
What happens if I leave affiliate programs?
Leaving programs means your account is no longer monetized. You won’t be able to earn revenue or access affiliate tools.
Note: Your information may still be shared with EU tax authorities in compliance with DAC7
How do I delete my account?
Go to: My Account > Contact Information > Delete My Account
Note: Deleting your account does not prevent your data from being reported to tax authorities under DAC7.
What does Affilae do with my personal information?
Your DAC7 data is protected under the same privacy standards as all your other personal data. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
I have more tax-related questions. Can you help?
Affilae does not provide personal tax advice.
