Founded five years ago by two sisters, Fleur and Amélie, Skin & Out was created to help women treat adult acne in a gentle and natural way. After experiencing skin issues themselves following the discontinuation of hormonal contraception, they set out to design a holistic solution: natural products that work both internally and externally, while respecting the skin and the environment.

The brand’s flagship product, The Bento, brings together Skin & Out essentials—dietary supplements, topical skincare, and exfoliants—while also providing access to personalized coaching with a naturopath. This approach helps customers better understand their acne and adopt a lifestyle tailored to their needs.

Today, Marine Lebrec, Head of Communication, shares how Skin & Out integrated affiliate marketing with Affilae to strengthen brand awareness and improve affiliate marketing conversion through long-term creator partnerships

Can you tell us more about your role and responsibilities?

I’ve been Head of Communication at Skin & Out for a little over two and a half years. My role is to promote the brand across all communication channels, manage influencer collaborations, and ensure long-term consistency in our brand messaging.

 

What was Skin & Out’s main challenge when building its online acquisition strategy?

Skin & Out initially managed affiliate marketing in-house and quickly recognized the potential of this channel.

The challenge was to scale the strategy, as one-off collaborations are no longer enough. Consumers need to hear about a brand repeatedly over time to build trust.

Affiliate marketing enabled us to establish continuous brand advocacy throughout the year, with more credible messaging and measurable results. However, managing partnerships on a daily basis became time-consuming, which is why we chose to work with Affilae— to professionalize and structure the approach.

How did you discover Affilae, and what convinced you to collaborate with the platform?

We discovered Affilae through the Aime podcast, and later through Amélie, our co-founder, who had heard about it from other entrepreneurs in the industry.

What convinced us was Affilae’s human and expert-driven approach. From the very first conversations, Arthur, Sales at Affilae, inspired confidence thanks to his strong expertise and strategic vision for the program. Then Albane, our Account Manager, confirmed this impression—she’s attentive, proactive, and always full of relevant ideas.

The six-month trial period with no commitment was also a key factor, as it allowed us to clearly see the value Affilae brings before extending the partnership.

 

What were your concrete objectives when launching the affiliate program?

The two main objectives were clear: brand awareness and conversion.

Affilae helped us define concrete KPIs and structure a strong affiliate network. From the outset, our ambition was to recruit at least 30 new partners per month and receive regular collaboration proposals.

Over time, the strategy evolved toward working with more mature creators, closer to the naturopathy and skin-health space, rather than purely lifestyle profiles.

 

Were there any key moments or standout activations?

Our VIP content creators are a key driver of success. These are trusted partners with whom we’ve built long-term relationships.

They truly embody the Skin & Out philosophy: speaking honestly about the products over time, integrating them naturally into their routines. The goal is to continue strengthening this network so the brand is increasingly carried by committed ambassadors.

What results have you seen since launching the program?

The affiliate program has driven strong revenue growth, with +€196,000 generated since launch.

Affiliate marketing has now become a core lever in our overall strategy, both in terms of visibility and commercial performance. Beyond awareness, it plays a key role in driving affiliate marketing conversion by building trust over time.
